Prince Charming Regal Carousel is a classic Magic Kingdom ride where guests spin through a whimsical, storybook setting inspired by Cinderella.

Quick Summary

What is Prince Charming Regal Carousel?

Prince Charming Regal Carousel is Disney's nostalgic carousel themed after Cinderella. With hand-painted horses, gentle music, and no height requirement, it’s a calm, charming option for all ages—especially little ones, first-time visitors, or anyone needing a peaceful moment in Fantasyland. It’s simple, nostalgic Disney magic rather than a thrill ride, but it’s a sweet break from the crowds and a lovely photo stop near the castle. The ride is approximately 2 minutes long, and there is a simple cloth buckle.

Is Prince Charming Regal Carousel Scary?

  • This ride allows kids (and adults) to ride wooden horses that look like Cinderella characters.

  • The ride goes in a circle at a slow to moderate pace with calm music.

  • Music and sounds are generally moderate. There are no flashing lights or loud sounds.

  • Overall, Prince Charming Regal Carousel gets a Scare Score of 1/10.

Best Times to Ride Prince Charming Regal Carousel

  • Afternoon (when you need a calm break!)

  • Nighttime (for an extra magical ride)

  • Average wait times for this ride are around 5-15 minutes.

Lightning Lane vs. Standby: Is It Worth It?

Due to the low wait times, this ride is absolutely not worth a Lightning Lane in my opinion. If it has a short wait, I think the standby line is worth it. However, since carousels are common in other theme parks and zoos, I do not think this ride is worth more than a 15 minute wait unless it is very important to you!

Nearby Snacks, Bathrooms, & Break Spots

Bathrooms: There are bathrooms behind Pinocchio Village Haus that are quiet and hidden, making it a great place for a bathroom break and a rest zone.

Snacks: There is an ice cream & drink cart in front of Pinocchio Village Haus, which is next to the exit of Prince Charming Regal Carousel.

Snacks: Across the way from Prince Charming Regal Carousel is Storybook Treats and Friar's Nook, which offer seasonal snacks and dole whip flavors.

Break Spots: There is some shaded seating at Friar's Nook next to the carousel.

Pro Tips

  • Look for a horse with a gold ribbon in its tail... that's Cinderella's horse!

  • Parents can stand next to their little one's horse if it makes everyone more comfortable.

  • There are also benches if friends want to sit next to each other on the carousel!

Prince Charming Regal Carousel is a nostalgic, magical ride that lets you take a break and just enjoy the beauty of Fantasyland. While it probably isn't worth a long wait, I highly recommend finding time to ride it during your day.
