Mad Tea Party is a crazy fun thrill that will have you spinning straight into Wonderland!
Quick Summary
Park: Magic Kingdom
Land: Fantasyland
Ride Type: Spinning ride, family ride
Height Requirement: None
Lightning Lane: Not Recommended
What is Mad Tea Party?
Mad Tea Party is a spinning ride that lets you shrink into a tea cup! Each teacup fits about 3-4 people, and you can control how fast your teacup spins as the platform of teacups spins in a big circle. The ride is approximately 90 seconds long, and there are no lap bars or seat belt restraints.
Is Mad Tea Party Scary?
This ride can spin very quickly if you want it to, which could frighten younger guests.
Guests prone to motion sickness will most likely get sick on this ride!
At the end of the ride, there is a brief but loud siren or brake sound as the ride comes to a close.
Overall, Mad Tea Party gets a Scare Score of 3/10.
Best Times to Ride Mad Tea Party
Late morning when you are finishing in Fantasyland
Early evening while waiting for the fireworks
Average wait times for this ride are around 5-20 minutes.
Lightning Lane vs. Standby: Is It Worth It?
Due to normally short wait times and a short ride time, I do not think this ride is worth a Lightning Lane. If the line is long, then I would recommend riding another Fantasyland ride like The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh or Mickey's PhilharMagic Concert. Generally the wait for this ride is short, and it might be worth it if the ride is important to you.
Nearby Snacks, Bathrooms, & Break Spots
Bathrooms: There are bathrooms behind Pinocchio Village Haus that are quiet and hidden, making it a great place for a bathroom break and a rest zone.
Snacks: There is a snack shop called "The Cheshire Cafe" next to Mad Tea Party that sells fun Alice in Wonderland themed snacks. It is open seasonally, but it's worth it if it's open!
Snacks: Across the way from Mad Tea Party is Storybook Treats, which offers seasonal snacks and dole whip flavors.
Break Spots: There is shaded seating right next to Mad Tea Party.
Break Spots: Cosmic Ray's Starlight Cafe in Tomorrowland has some covered outdoor seating right next Mad Tea Party.
Pro Tips
Work together with everyone in your teacup to spin in the same direction for super fast spinning!
Ride the teacups around dusk to avoid a longer wait.
Mad Tea Party is a whimsical, high-energy spinning ride inspired by Alice in Wonderland, where guests hop into oversized teacups and whirl around a colorful, music-filled courtyard. You control the spin, so it can be delightfully gentle… or full-on Wonderland chaos. It might be worth a short wait for you, but this ride can easily be skippable if you have higher priorities in Fantasyland.
